Ok, it happened. I created my LJ account - they forced me to do it. They meaning circumstances. I still have no idea how will it better or complement my web page (for static info), my MS Note journal (for diary), and gazeta.ru conference (for God knows why), but why not give it a try. Another Q: English or Russian. It will stay Russian English for a while until I find out if I need this new toy at all.

Anyway, yesterday I spent some time googling through patents. I was a bit disappointed after my Google search demonstrated that the nice idea I had is already taken and some russian business is already promoting it - "patents pending". Then I found that the idea itself was patented issued quite a while ago. These guys will be surprised when they try to sell it here (or may be they just try selling it in Russia?). But the other tool I am thinking about is not patented! Looks like I got something new to explore.

Oops... Few minutes passed since I published the first message and already feeling an urge to post a random thought again. Spooky.

Yesterday I was talking to AN visiting our university about climate change impact on wine and bourbon production in the US. Anyway, for some reason a considerable scientific effort in climate change research is devoted to a potential impact on production of spirits. I have a NY Times publication from the 19th century where they talked how  "recent climate change"  ruined wine production in the UK.  I really enjoyed the culmination point - "nobody will regret about this sorrow stuff". I wonder if same is true about English wines now. Never tested any. Sorrow stuff, heh.
