absolutely. best case for fertilization is as far as I remember Oak Ridge, just goes to show that soils rule the world :-) the data on N fixation is very incomplete, but we do see root activity increasing, potentially simply increasing throughput of carbon rather than NPP (our lab results, not quite published yet)
