Interesting discussion. The physicists comment on the perspectives of  fusion power in Andrew Revkin's blog: should the governments continue with current level of funding for fusion energy production provided that for the past sixty or so years the promise of commercial power plant had always been thirty years in the future.

Да, известные все аргументы. У меня бывший студент на прошлой неделе просил рекомендацию на graduate program как раз по fusion energy в Германии. Отговаривал примерно теми же словами: "fusion is energy of the future", I'm hearing this for about 50 years now, and it does not seem to be any closer. А наши многие MS студенты практику проходят в Cadarache, им там нравится. Романтика большого международного проекта. Но обещал подумать. Студент - иорданец. Не особенно толковый, но чрезвычайно страрательный.
