Спасибо scholar_vit за ссылку на крайне интересный ресурс, консервативную википедию. С удовольствием просмотрел раздел "атеизм - это клоун, и он про это не знает".  А вот эта запись замечательно напомнила мне мои собственные разговоры про климат  - в те времена, когда я такие разговоры еще вел: shockofgod задает вопрос, которого боятся все атеисты: докажите, что атеизм - правда. Там же: разоблачение теории относительности, Барак Обама - мусульманин с вероятностью 99%, доказательство, что  Земле 6000 лет с вероятностью не менее 93%, церковь Глобального Потепления Климата под предводительством Папы Альберта I и еще много всего.

Самое печальное даже не то, что эти самоуверенные, необразованные фанатики идут во власть, а то, что их поддерживет множество успешных русскоязычных иммигрантов с университетским образованием;  по недоступной мне причине они считают, что люди, неспособные к элементарным логическим рассуждениям, тем не менее будут успешно управлять страной. Что это?

1. No, it's not a fact.
2.In response to your rather sophisticated economic analysis, go read the Stern Review, written by one of the most successful capitalists out there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stern_Review in case you haven't heard of it (but of course you have, you have studied this question extensively, as is clearly evident from your earlier response)
3. In response to your direct question: Wait, seriously? Are you seriously asking me this question? Then the answer is yes. I love causing suffering of other people. That's how I get my rocks off. NAME REDACTED 1 Not buying your argument, good sir. The models holding up is great for the very short locality where we have records, but not an argument over the last 2,000 years even, unless several orders of magnitude more is known about historical climate than is announced publicly :)). That being said, my chief doubt has to do with sun. We know next to f**k all about it even locally, and straight up nothing over the span of, say, 10,000 years => I see no possibility of a meaningful discussion of long-term climate, gratis.

Alexander Gershenson NAME REDACTED 1: Look up Dome C data. 600,000 years back. It's all public, you just don't know about it.
As far as the sun- really easy to go back however many years you want, using isotopic composition of atmospheric oxygen and hydrogen, as well as a couple others. That's the whole beauty of proxy data.
Once again, our knowledge of the past is not modeled- it's actual data. Current models work regardless of which period we run them for. They show that if we have an anthropogenic signal, then model output matches reality, if we remove the anthropogenic signal, it should be far colder right now. The sun hasn't done jack shit in the last 50 years, look it up, once again. And yet warming we have.
We'll be on the ringroad, 4:30 on the clockface (not 4:30 the street)

NAME REDACTED 1 Amazingly, I do know about isotopic records, and that's pretty much another problem in itself - we don't know if they are reliable. More, as things stand right now, we can't in principle know if they are reliable. The temptation to assume so is high enough that it's routinely assumed, otherwise climatology, archeology, paleontology and numerous others will have nothing to go on. ;-))

Alexander Gershenson as a person that works with isotopes of C13-C12 I don't understand what assumptions you are talking about. Care to explain? Do we assume something about fractionation under different conditions? Something else? Oh, and isotopic chemistry is just one of the tools at our disposal, so even without it we would have plenty to go on :-)

Alexander Gershenson Mr. NAME REDACTED 2, what exactly do you want to show me by saying you ignore isotopic data, and yet bring up anecdotal evidence from a book written HUNDREDS of years after the stated events? Remind me, when was Karamzin alive? Oh, that's right, late XVIII century...
I recommend you review some of the basics of how science works. You know, things like empirical versus anecdotal evidence, stuff like that.
