 "User B ... invoked a bit of Chinese folk wisdom: ‘It's colder when snow melts than when snow falls’ (xiaxue bu leng huaxue leng). User B's post illustrates the concept of endothermism; as snow absorbs energy (heat), it becomes a liquid, and in the process, cools the surrounding air."
